Dr. Erica Robinson, OwnerB.S. Humboldt State University; Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, University of MelbourneDr. Erica Robinson graduated from Humboldt State University in 1997 with a B.S. degree in Environmental Biology. Not long after graduation she began working at Myrtle Avenue Pet Center as a kennel assistant, and quickly moved over to Myrtle Avenue Veterinary Hospital to work as a kennel assistant there. Her interest and experience in the field of veterinary medicine developed and she became a registered veterinary technician in 1999. In March of 2001 Dr. Robinson moved to Melbourne, Australia to attend veterinary school there. In December of 2005 she graduated with honors from the University of Melbourne with a degree in veterinary medicine. After completing several rigorous national and state examinations, she became a licensed veterinarian in the state of California. In September of 2008 her journey had come full circle, and she began practicing as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Myrtle Avenue Veterinary Hospital. Finally, on January 1st, 2012, Dr. Erica Robinson purchased Myrtle Avenue Veterinary hospital from Dr. Jeff Kelley- Day. In addition to working as a veterinarian, Dr. Robinson enjoys reading, gardening, and is a mother to two fantastic young girls, Scarlett and Kylie. Dr. Robinson also has one dog, Eddy, and two cats, Smokey, and Tiger Lilly.

Emily Nichols, R.V.T.
Head Technician
Emily graduated from Sonoma State University with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and biology. Before coming to work at MAVH in 2008, she worked in Sonoma County in an animal shelter, a wildlife rehabilitation center and a veterinary emergency hospital. Emily enjoys combining her love of travel and veterinary medicine. Recent trips include volunteering for Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary in South Africa and working with the International Veterinary Students Association providing care to animals in rural Costa Rica. Emily has two cats: Ito & Jubei.

Melissa Moser
ManagerMelissa joined the MAVH team in 2016 and has been in the veterinary field since 1998. She has worked all aspects of the profession from receptionist to technician, and became our Office Manager in 2017. Melissa attended College of the Redwoods and is currently working on a BA in Business Management. As the world turns, Melissa and Dr. Robinson worked together at another hospital over twenty years ago. When Melissa is not working, she can be found with her three children, cooking, gardening, attending concerts or trying her hand at anything fun that requires laughter. In addition to three human children, she also has a 7 year old Boxer : Bruno & two fancy kitty boys: Richard and PeterGlennDavid.

Dr. Tatiane Prado
Education:
Federal University of Uberlandia Dr. Tatiane Prado, originally from Brazil, graduated from Federal University of Uberlandia in 2015. She moved to Humboldt county in 2017 to explore everything that beautiful northern California has to offer. Dr Prado joined our MAVH team in 2019. In her free time she enjoys dancing, hiking and camping.

Dr. Betsy NinekirkDoctorate of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State UniversityDr. Betsy Ninekirk graduated from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She has worked in Humboldt County ever since Dr. Ninekirk (& her faithful Chihuahua "Mija", also known as our office dog) rejoined our team full-time in 2016. In her free time she enjoys gardening in her amazing yard, showing her horse: "Grace", and is every staff members favorite baker. |
